Uranium Watch
Purpose:
Uranium Watch, established in 2006, addresses the environmental
and health and safety impacts of the uranium industry in Utah and the Four-
Corners area, nuclear industry projects in Utah, and mining projects in southeast
Utah. Uranium Watch educates the public and engages with local, state, and
federal regulatory agencies. Uranium Watch is a member of the Western Mining
Action Network.
Current Projects:
• White Mesa Uranium Mill - San Juan County, Utah
• Uranium mines in Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico
• Proposed uranium mill in Green River, Utah
• Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems proposed small modular nuclear
reactor at the DOE Idaho National Lab
• Proposed in situ leach copper recovery operation at the Lisbon Valley Copper
Mine
